Accessibility and inclusive design for ageing campus estates
Accessibility is not a regulatory burden. It decides who can fully participate and ageing campus buildings too often answer that question with barriers. We upgrade existing university buildings to be genuinely inclusive, from external stairs and entrances to bathrooms, reception areas, lecture theatres and performance stages. The goal is never a separate "accessible" entrance. It is one space that welcomes everyone from the same position.
Our Approach
We treat accessibility as a design catalyst, not a compliance afterthought. Safety systems disappear into the design, accommodations are integrated rather than announced, and heritage fabric is respected throughout. The result is a building that meets its obligations and, more importantly, changes how every person is welcomed through the door.
