When Box Hill Institute needed to transform their basement auditorium in Building B4, the measure of success was simple: would people choose to use it?
HATZ transformed the space, shared by the Music and Nursing schools, as principal consultant. Acoustic treatment, integrated audio-visual systems, new seating, flooring and a redesigned foyer: every decision grounded in how the institution operates, every element resolved as an architectural decision, not a procurement item.
Completed February 2024, on programme and within the $750,000 budget. Since completion, lecturer bookings have increased by 30% and student take-up has been strong. They chose to use it.
