Keysborough Townhouses
Keysborough is a thriving suburb, located 35km south-east of Melbourne, Australia.
The Keysborough Townhouses project is situated in a vast grassland ecosystem on a 2Ha rectangular site.
In early 2020, Hatz was engaged at the early stages of the Design Development phase to undertake a design review of the complex.
The design consists of 106 two and three-storey townhouses. These townhouses are divided into 6 unique typologies, based on sun orientation, family size and planning constraints.
While each typology responds suitably to its targeted resident, Hatz further refined each typology.
The aim was to improve the facades, roof-forms, ergonomic flow, streetscape and their relationship with the wider context of Keysborough.
Liveability, affordability and sustainability were some of the main criteria that Hatz explored.
In addition, Hatz studied the impact that these townhouses would have on the site by utilising 3D modelling software. Subsequently, the refined proposal was presented to the client in the form of plans, elevations and sections.
In addition, Hatz prepared material boards, as well as real-time 3D modelling and artistic renders.
This project is currently being reviewed for Planning approval.
